Think the best way to comment on this film is to show you guys the conversation among me and my SW buff buddies.
Rogue One's first release in cinema. 00:01 UK
You saw it?
So many Easter eggs!
Did you see these two in the crowd scene?
Me: Sure I watched it! I'm a hard core hey! Yeah!!!!!! I was very
excited when I saw these two! I was like, man you are going to lose your
arm soon! Lol! Rouge One is going to be my fav now! The last battle
scene is sublime!!!!!!!!!!!!! For the first time I feel like it is a War
after all I'm watching! Main characters you grow to love will die in a
Star Wars film!!!! I was very emotional at the end! Had a strange
feeling I was watching a mix of a great 2nd WW film with GOT~Darth Vader
was so terrifying for the first time I have to say! To me he was just a
masked dude with black leather suit walking around and occasionally
using the light saber to "fight" . Never made me feel scared but this
time he does! That's sooooooo cool! Wow!
Did they actually use CGI to make Carrie Fisher look young or they cast another young lady to act Princess Leia? She looks so much like Carrie!!!!! It's uncanny!
Oh oh ! Did you see Bail Organa! So glade to see him! He mentioned Obiwan to Mon Momath! I was jumping in my seat at that time hhhhh
And so many lines that make me smile! " it's a trap!" Said him Ackbar! Lol "I have a bad feeling about this" said K2SO, everyone in the room was laughing when he said it!
Oh my, don't get me started I'm far too excited now! Need to cool down a bit!

云顶集团，Think Carrie was enhanced footage from film they didn't use in the trilogy.

Today I've watched Rogue One. It is great. However, I wish there were Jedis. I miss good Jedi stories and saber fights!
Didn't expect you will go to see Rogue One! True there aren't much light saber duels but the pace of the film is amazing! For the first time I feel like I'm watching a war film! It definitely jumps out of the PG-13 cartoonish narrative of its previous franchise and starts to deal with some real battles! The ending of the film seamlessly links the prequels to the origin trilogy! This film to me is definitely the best SW film! Don't get me wrong, I love Jedi knights! They are, however, to some extent Demi-gods and that supernatural quality kind of reduces the sense of realism and thus makes the series quite childish.
This one reaches another level of SW! The tragic heroism gives depth to a si-fi action film and turns it into what they wold call a Space Opera. Plus I prefer people with trivial backgrounds to achieve great deeds in their character arcs. The SW saga has long been centering around the Skywalker /Solo families - they are sort of aristocratic in the franchises. It's fine, but the story thus lacks of layers and the sublime quality I feel. Commoners achieve great deeds, or commoners being used as the narrative angle are what academically called Shakespeare's Falstaff character. It's the highest way to narrate a story. Lol this one is my fav so I feel like defending it very strongly.
You're a true fan! You get passionate
Me: Of course I am. I grow up with the prequels!

Absolutely love these two! Usually as a Chinese audience I find Chinese actors in so called blockbusters to be very strange and embarrassing even! But this time these two are amazing! They nail it! I love Jiang Wen, one of the very few actors/directors who do not produce trashy commercials in China's horrible film industry! I don't know much about Yen though I know he is great in action films! These two surprised me with their very touching acting!
